A Permanent Endowment, Built to Outlast Any One Gift
The first institutional endowment fund in Central Pennsylvania for public education, right here in East Pennsboro Township. Professionally invested, permanently restricted, and managed by an EPASD alumnus.
What we're building
An endowment is a permanent investment fund: the principal is never spent. Only a small, disciplined percentage of its value is distributed each year, so the Fund can support East Pennsboro Area School District students this year, next year, and every year after.
Until now, the East Pennsboro Education Foundation hasn’t had a permanent fund. It's governed under Pennsylvania's Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA), professionally invested, and structurally different from the episodic drives and one-time campaigns that have defined district fundraising in the past.
Principal is permanently restricted and cannot be spent down
A written, board-approved Investment Policy Statement governs every decision
Every gift compounds: this year's donations will still be working for students decades from now

Join the Investment Committee
The Fund is governed by more than one person's judgment. We're building a small, credentialed Investment Committee to provide oversight, perspective, and accountability as the Fund grows.
Bring your expertise to a permanent community asset
The Investment Committee holds advisory authority over investment strategy and primary responsibility for policy oversight, including reviewing performance, asset allocation, and annual investment policy review. It's a meaningful way to put professional experience to work for EPASD students, with a modest time commitment.
Quarterly meetings (roughly 45–60 minutes each)
Review performance, allocation, and policy: no day-to-day trading duties
Confirmed by majority vote of the Foundation Board
A visible, credential-building volunteer role for local professionals
A real internship, not busywork
Students get hands-on exposure to how an actual endowment fund and nonprofit are run, working directly with the Fund's leadership.
Interns gain real experience in donor relations, fundraising strategy, and fund administration, the kind of resume-worthy, mentorship-driven work that's rare at the high school level. It's a chance to help shape a brand-new program from its very first year.
Direct mentorship
Exposure to real fund operations and reporting
A documented, fair selection process for every applicant
A credential for college applications and future jobs
